I picked this up to backup some family pictures/movies. The large drive capacity was nice and the speed was good. The only thing I would keep in mind is that not always are the drive speeds correct. I've seen on the box that it states '7200RPM drive' but tools I have used have said they are '5400RPM' instead. When I called WD, they said I could just return the drive for another one - so keep that in mind.

Cheap, large storage. Run badblocks before putting it to use in a dedicated system.

This is a nice little addition to my office desk. Until now, I relied on NAS backups which are time-consuming. I use a Mac and native Time Machine for backups. This is compatible with Mac upon an initial reboot. I partitioned this into two equal parts. 6 TB for my Time Machine and 6 TB for my photos.

These external hard drives have a short life span as they are in passively ventilated enclosures. Best use scenario is to take them out of the enclosure (chuck it) and put them in a well ventilated case. You lose the warranty but the warranty is useless anyway as they send you a used, crappy drive (refurbished) as a warranty replacement.

Works great, with plenty of room for XBOX games. Just format through XBOX, download or transfer your games, and play! Western Digital hard drives are the best!! Getting it on the deal of the day, makes it a great buy!!!

When partitioning the external hard drive, you would want to initial set up on mac that way you can set partitions for time machine, extra storage for mac & extra storage for windows. Works great and I have no issues

use this for my xbox series x got it on a great deal. runs cool.

Drive is fast and no issues accessing files on it. It was very pricy though.

lets start off i got this on a BB deal of the day. The price per GB was right. Nothing else to see here. Transfered over 100 hrs of Highly edited videos and thousands of pictures of my wife's dying laptop. And barely broke a sweat. Its a tank IF the price per GB. Is right get it.

I purchased this to replace a 5TB drive and everything moved over smoothly. It took a few hours to copy everything but that's to be expected with that much data. I should be good on storage for another couple of years with 12TB. WD reds in the shell with a white label, just like reddit said.

Its and external hard drive and works great so far! Not sure what else there is to say.

This has been a very wise purchase for us. We really needed the extra storage to save videos which load up the internal hard drive quickly. This hard drive is quick and has given us absolutely nothing to complain about.

Ordered online and went to the store on the same day. Nice and easy pick up!
