Its ok..does what it needs to do. You cant do a backup of a mac and make filders its either or....

Great storage, perfect for what my son needs for college.

Great value for the amount of space. I have a large amount of media that I need to back up and this is perfect plus extra storage on top of that. Unit can be slightly nosy when the hard drive is spinning but not bothersome.

It just sits there and backs up data. Have not had any issues. Haven't even had to do anything. Will update this review at a later date if any issues, but got it at a great price and has more storage then my hard drive for my tower.

I have a NAS that I bought these drives for they were easy to shuck and they seem to be White label RED drives. I tested them first before shucking them and none of them had issues. I bought 5 of them WD has good quality with these.

Solid hard drive for mass storage. One caveat, it is NOT fast (5400 rpm) nor does it have a large cache. As long as you're not trying to use it for massive file editing or gaming, you should be all set.

Take it from someone who had to learn the hard way, if you care about your data and you don't want to lose it if something happens to this drive, THROW IT IN THE TRASH. I am beyond ticked off about this, first of all, there is nowhere stating what kind of hard drive this is. Just to inform all of you, it is a helium hard drive. If you've never heard of it, neither did I, until I'm standing at a data recovery center in tears asking what in gods name that means and why does that make my life difficult. Let me enlighten you, helium drives are infused with helium gas meaning there isn't a way for anyone to repair these without destroying them if you open it up internally. We don't have enough research, or I guess technology isn't there yet is what I was told. Meanwhile, Western digital is over here selling these products to people and none of us have any clue about it, unless you're in a situation where you need data recovery, and the hard drive is in Mechanical failure and nobody can do anything because they can't open it to repair it. Not to mention putting their brand over other manufacturers hard drives and claiming it's theirs, so you don't know what you're really getting. Moral of the story, don't buy this. If you did, get something else, and make sure for the love of all that is holy that it is a NORMAL HARD DRIVE.

Love this HD we have four. Very quiet and efficient.

Works just as it should. No complains other than they are still using a horrible micro usb 3 connection.

Although expensive overall, the value is great for holding 12 TBs of data. Looks great in black or white and Best Buy occasionally has the better price over Amazon and ships quickly.

Get it to backup your data and files, but don't get it for speed if you've ever used an SSD. It's not fast.

Great hard drive for the price. I'm actually using this as an internal drive as this was the cheapest option for 12tb. I used kyplon tape to cover third pin. And the adapter for something else.

what an amazing price for such enormous capacity! works smoothly with my mac. I was one of the lucky ones that got this for $120.00 which is a steal of the century. even if this was $200 that would still be a steal.

Always had good look with WD hard drives. Works as advertised and got great service with BB. We did this curbside so it was even easier. I would recommend if you are looking for a ton of storage in one spot.
