Buy it for the drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've shucked quite a few drives from these easystores. Buy them when they are discounted and you've got a great storage drive. They are usually hellium drives with white label.

Be very careful with these things
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as part of a great sale. Used it 4 two weeks. Did some rearranging of stuff, it tipped over on it's side and it stopped working. I have another WD 14Tb drive which I've been using to store alot of my DVDs. I disconnected it and boxed it up for when I need it

Great for system backups
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far as so good with these drives. I buy them to use as backup drives and keep them offline and in a secure location when not in use. Great capacity but over all they are slow when compared to other drives.

Slow but lots of storage space
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed something like this to consolidate files from multiple devices, so I grabbed this when it went on sale. While it did the job, since I had gotten used to SSD drives, this drive seemed excruciatingly slow. If you've got the time to spare and don't want to pay the big bucks for a high-capacity SSD drive, this could be a good choice.

WD - easystore 12TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WD - easystore 12TB External works like it should my only gripe is the formatting. The larger the drive the more usable capacity you lose. I only gained one tb of capacity over a 10 tb drive I already owned.

DO NOT BUY!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one online January 22nd and did not open it up right away. So when I did the drive was defective. So I need to send it for warranty repair, frustrating but my fault for not opening it up right away. I sent it out on April 2nd and now after several calls to support they are telling me they will NOT warranty the drive now! So if you but this product be prepared if you need warranty support you will not get it. I have bought Western Digital Drives for years and have never had so many problems with getting a BRAND NEW drive repaired under warranty!! You have been warned, DO NOT BUY!!!!!

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a few 4 TB hard drives to this unit and to free those up. 12 tb hard drives
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hard Drive - Black - Amazon.com I gave this drive 5 stars because it works great. It's fast and easy to use. However, I was a little disappointed because this is supposed to be a 12TB drive and there was only 10.9TB available on it. I was so surprised that I looked at the box to be sure that they sent the right one.

Good Value in a Large External Hard Drive
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this when on sale and at the time it was a great deal on a large external drive. It has worked fine for the past month or so, but as with many hard drives, it may take a year or more to see any failures.

Reliable and fast!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’d drive reliability is important, stick to Western Digital. Data centers that use tens of thousands of drives have compared the reliability of various brands and Western Digital (and their sister company Hitachi) come out on top.

Nice for my home server.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had good luck with these drives in my server. The server is kept in a cool area in close proximity to seven other WD drives, with a 80mm fan blowing directly on them.

Great storage
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do a lot of recording of videos, and I don't want to have everything on my computer. Some of my videos are 5 hours and it can load to the external hard drive less than 4 minutes.

5400 rpm and NOT 7200 rpm as advertised.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.False advertisement on equipped drives. 5400 rpm and NOT 7200 rpm as advertised. WD is ripping customers off by selling lower grade quality drives.

1 year till it started to fail
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this on a Black Friday sale in 2018. So to be fair, I have been using it for 1 year and a few months as a backup drive. But I have Lacie drives that have lasted me over 5 years without issue. Maybe I am lucky with the Lacie drives or the backup software put this WD drive through a lot of pressure. Anyways, after this time, the drive is grinding pretty badly now and it's slower than usual. Meaning it's going to stop working and some of the data in the drive maybe lost because of plate damage. Even thou it has been good, my three stars is base on its longevity. Even thou two bills doesn't seem like a lot, it's a lot when we are going thru the covid situation and still no secure jobs and having to replace a failing drive a little over a year's time is always a hassle.
