      I got 2 of the WD Easystore 14TBs while they were on sale, to help me consolidate 8 HDs down to 2. I was hoping to reduce some power consumption, but my smart plug is reporting around the same power usage. Major bummer! But it is nice to only have files scattered across 2 drives instead of 8, it makes organizing much easier! I just hope it never fails, that would be a major disaster! Speed is good, not lightning fast but good enough. I use these with my 2010 MacPro 5,1, so I know that's my cause for the r/w slowdown. But the computer is solid and it still works great for over a decade of use. Not many other computers can say or do that!

      This drive was incredible. 14 TB of data is a lot of space. I was able to consolidate most of my older drives into this compact unit. It is silent and fast. Highly recommended.

      I upgraded my NAS to 12 TB RAID 1. The old 5 TB external wasn't going to cut it. This 14 TB USB-C 3.0 become the new backup for the NAS. Totally plug and play with my NetGear RN102.I'll forget it there in a day or two.

      It makes a concerning loud noise every 10-15 seconds but otherwise seems to work flawlessly. It does take a few seconds to wake up when idle which seems to freeze my web browser, but otherwise seems to work ok. Still concerned about the noise though.

      We have used a cloud based backup service. When we have discovered a problem with our data/images, the backup already has a copy of the problem making it useless. I will main backups here to be more effective.
