It allowed me to back up several of my different data bases to one place. When I need more external space I will again look at a WD Easystore again.

I own many WD Easystore drives and was thrilled to see a 14TB drive...and at such a great price. I highly recommend these drives; especially if you have large amounts of data that needs to be backed up.

Extended warranty is a must if purchased

The only con I currently have is that during long data transfers, the unit would be a bit loud.

good drive, very big

It actually comes out to 12.7TB once you convert that up to the bigger units, but that's still a really big number. It will hold a lot of stuff.

One out of two drives purchased was defective

One worked fine. The other one could only copy at very slow speeds (100K more of less). I called WD and they had me perform troubleshooting steps. After the steps were completed, they determined it was a defective drive. I think they could do better as far as quality control.

Awesome Backup Solution

Transfer speed over USB3 is reasonable. The value in this 14TB size is pretty amazing. I've had several of these EasyStore drives and have had zero issues.
