I needed to backup two HardDrives and didn’t want to add a third. This was a great deal. Not sure on the speed of these but it’s faster than the 8TB

Read speeds are kinda slow but adequate for the job

Pros: Bought it to use as a storage for my big movie database and it is doing it's job as needed. Cons: White blinking light, a bit annoying

Worthless junk and expensive paper weight. I bought this 14 TB drive because I needed the memory space. After a year it stopped working completely out pf the blue. I took it to the Geek Squad and they couldn't get it to work either, nor could they get the data off it, and that was after they charged me $200 just to look at it. So, all of the files I had on here are lost for good. I basically have a $650 paperweight. Not worth the purchase.

4 of these set up in a NAS. A bit noisy. Helium drives. Good deal on sale.

I purchased this drive solely due to it's large capacity but found it so effective I got another for work. While the drive does not have any built in networkable components, it can be easily attached to a host pc and shared throughout an office. I've used network "cloud" drives in the past and found many to be slow and unresponsive despite my fast internet connection. With this external drive networked through a host I can transfer, share and backup large amounts of data quickly and easily eliminating the need for thumb drives.

This doesn't seem to have any issues with using through a hub and has plenty of space. Grab it when it's on sale and it's quite a deal!

I usually have the small portable external drives, and this is my first WD external drive that needs external power. Have not had it for too long and can't comment on the reliability, but definitely loving the massive storage!

Great drive for the money. Have many of these and have yet to have an issue. Especially great value when they go on sale.

Works exactly as it should and has a lot of space to store backups.

Having lots of space is nice, except that 10% is not usable and at 90% of the remainder, warnings start showing up. Sometimes the transfer rate is not very good. I do not know if I try to transfer too much at one time.

Not easy to set up for auto backups and once you exit out of the setup phase you can't seem to go back and change it.

This is a great WD hardrive, the price was great and setup was easy. 14TB is huge enough for my movies, games and music.

Used it as part of a primary storage system for a business client.

This is not a 14TB drive it is actually 12.7TB, it is all about how WD decides to measure capacity....... It appears to work fine so far, it takes a little while to 'wake up' when you first use it and transfer speeds seem to be reaonable.

I shucked two of these this for my True NAS setup. Works great
