Well it holds 14 terabytes and doesn't explode randomly sending my work images to the shadow world. Thats about as high a bar as I've ever had. Much prefer Western Digital over Seagate for that reason.

After purchasing from online (received June 5), I didn't open it till last week. It's suppose to be a 14 TB of space (13.7 TB), but it's only 12.7 TB of space (per Western Digital). I tried to return but it was beyond 30 days. Now I have to spend 10 dollars to return the drive to Western Digital. That isn't fair.

It happens, but what a pain to deal with. Hard drive light would briefly come on, but the drive wouldn’t spin up or mount. Best Buy took it back, but it took a lot of time to return and wasn’t able to get a replacement of the same type of drive. Ended up getting a 10TB in its place.

I looked at all the great reviews, and I have two other WD EasyStore drives that have been operating for a over a year. I was surprised when this drive stopped working after an hour of use. None of my computers would recognize the drive.

Easy to use and set up. Great product for the price. I continue to come back to Western Digital for my storage needs.

I've now bought at one time or another around five of these WD EasyStore drives to meet my storage needs for large sets of files. They have never let me down. The measured speeds when connected to a good USB 3.0 port is typically around +200 MB/s for both read and write of large, sequential files. My only compliant is that some of the bigger drives have had an automatic sleep function kick in that I don't appreciate. In those cases, I've worked up a short script that "pings" the drive every few minutes to keep it alive. Western Digital is my "go to" company for spinning hard drives. I don't trust any other company for this stuff when it comes to continuous, trouble free operation.

Bought a year ago, sat unused until I really needed it, put in use and now 2 weeks after turning it on its unfixable according to my computer which can’t use it.

This is the third Easystore Hard drive I have purchased. Great for use with my Plex server. Have been reliable, and when on sale, the price is very reasonable.

The WD External Hard Drive does an excellent job of doing everything it promises to do. The data transfer rate is very smooth and steady. For some reason, as of March of 2024, the price of this product has increased quite a bit since I purchased this product in 2021. This is disappointing, because usually as time passes the size of the Hard Disk Drives increases - which results in the sizes of the smaller Hard Disk Drives decreasing. The sizes of the Hard Disk Drives have increased over the past several years; however, the prices of all the drives - even the smaller drives, has increased. This is particularly true at Best Buy. Other retailers sell similar Hard Disk Drives for a lower price. It is also disappointing the way Best Buy now tries to sell these Hard Disk Drives as part of their "Deal of the Day" by intentionally claiming the normal price is higher than the normal Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. Best Buy is essentially using the ole' scam of saying, "This item is $20 on sale," but in reality Best Buy has raised the price of the unit by $30.

Excellent for backup purposes, just wished it had eSATA and used a disk supporting CMR instead of SMR since this is a really large storage device, as it would have transferred files just slightly faster, but that's what helps keep the price down. In any case it's a great value, just understand its capabilities and you won't be disappointed. After purchase I ran this through a long SMART test, looked at the results, then days of "badblocks" and then another long SMART test and it came through with "flying colors" but I have had vaster drives, just none as large as this. It serves its purpose as a backup to 9TB of storage, just takes 30 hours to get it all over.

This was easy to set up and it works great from the first day. Transferred and stored 8TB the first week.

My son is using this hard drive to back up his computer and says it is working perfectly. He doesn't even notice it's there, it just keeps his backup files updated in the background. And the price can't be beat, especially with the cyber Monday savings.

Perfect size for desk top! Easy to use wish I had picked up one more!

The external hard drive is great and allows tons of storage capacity. East plug and play setup.

Drive didn’t even last a year and lost all my data.

I purchased 2 of these and they perform wonderfully. Used them to replace my old 4TB HGST drives, and these ones are very quiet. Last I checked, most of these drives are helium filled and operate at 7200rpm. Both disks perform at about 160MB/s sequential read. That's some good stuff! Purchased these during Black Friday for $200 a pop. Super happy with my purchase.

This works perfectly. Priced competitively. And good in store information on exactly which drive would be best for my needs. Absolutely perfect retail experience at Best buy once again and always. Thank you
