great price at $199 + 15% off coupon when recycling old hard drives. these are CMR drives and work better for NAS than SMR. i shucked these and replaced my 8TB set. took 19 days to replace 7x8TB. i've nearly doubled my capacity in my NAS. and finally, RAID is not a back up ;)

WD makes a very reliable external hard drive. I have several to store backups of photos and important data. Best Buy is my go to place for all my electronic needs. Service was fast and delivered before scheduled date.

    The Best External HD Brand

Using this one primarily as a backup for other external drives that are full. I've never had a WD drive fail on me yet (I have 3 others running daily) so that's the only external HD brand I have the most trust in. I've had a couple of Seagate's fail on me in the past and I want to avoid going through that headache again of losing precious files.

It's a Western Digital Easystore hard drive. Not much more needs be said. These are good, relatively cheap hard drives. Yes, it's still a spinner, but that's okay when you want massive amounts of storage.

Im very pleased with this product. Lots of storage. it does need an outlet as it uses more than the usb to power it (compared to my old wd passport drive that was powered solely by USB). Other than that its just plug and play.

This hard drive definitely beats the first I ever owned. First hard drive costed more than this and was only 850 MB and people complain about inflation???? Seriously? This is a steal.

If you just need storage and back up things it’s a great buy. But for daily use, it’s pretty loud.

I have been buy these series of Massive drives since maybe 2013 and each time I buy them I catch one on sale that hold more data than the last. So here's to hoping the next one I get is a 16tb or 18tb for a good price in a year or 2. My oldest drive that is an 8tb drive is still hooked up to my PC everyday and I have not had an issue with it still so I know its quality.

I really hope 14TB lasts me more than a few years! I've taken all any data and files from an 8TB drive onto this and have about 5.5TB of space remaining. The only gripe is that when it is formatted NTFS you cannot write (or view most files) to it when it is plugged into a Mac. Learned that the hard way when I bought a MacBook Air but I do have a workaround.
