The WD Easystore 14TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive that I purchased from Best Buy offered very good value and came exactly as advertised. The product replaces my current Seagate 8TB external hard drive. I have also owned several other WD external hard drives. Overall the WD and Seagate external hard drives offer similar functionality, but I found the accompanying software from WD better designed and easier to use.

Excellent quality WD (almost) server grade drive inside this unassuming black case makes this an excellent candidate for shucking and popping in your NAS, and they’re only available at BB. I have several for movies, tv and music and have had no problems. Best for data storage, not so much as a primary drive.

bought it for my brother because he makes a lot of family photos and videos and he's going home to the philippines so he needed a new storage space. I'm always a fan of western digital because they last a very long time!

WD might have some quality issue. I bought a total of 4 units on sale at different times. The first 2 units I bought one of them was not recognized by my computer at all so I brought it back the next day. BB had no problem replacing the unit at all. For the high capacity and what I was using it for, to back up my files, I ran HDDScan to test each disks before putting them into actual use. It took a little more than 10 days to run a complete test. All 4 drives passed the tests with no problem. Not the same for my brother-in-law though. I recommended the same 14TB drive for him to backup his family photos and videos. One of his drives ended up with a lot of errors, basically a defective drive. So he brought it back to BB and asking for a replacement. The staff refused to give him a replacement and insisted to only give him a refund and he had to make another purchase with the than non-sale price. This is definitely a SHAME ON YOU to both WD and BB! For WD - the quality is definitely an issue. 2 out of the 7 drives were bad! For BB, this is a replacement, NOT a refund! This is a bad rep for the BB customer service! I felt bad in making the recommendation to my brother-in-law that ended up in such bad customer service BB. Do you think I would recommend BB and WD to my other friends and family?

Excellent value if you can get at a decent price. I used it as a bare internal drive without the shell, it has standard SATA interface that can be plugged directly into the motherboard. Note that the mounting screws have different locations from the standard 3.5 inch drive, however.

I purchased this external hard drive to replace the 4TB & 5TB external drives that I already have. I have tons of digital family photos and videos and this will work out just fine. I bought it when I saw it as one of the Deal of Day items and I jumped right on it,

As easy as an external HD goes. I've had this for a bit over a year, and it's still going. I had to restart it manually once after a power spike in my apt complex. Other than that it is service me well.

I bought this on sale for $199, and that makes it a good value for me. I don't think I'll ever fill out the entire drive. I have the same drive that I purchased a couple years ago that is connected to my computer that I use as the main storage. I keep pictures, documents, ripped CDs, ripped movie files in this drive. Still plenty of space left. I bought a second drive to back up my files from my first drive. Pictures, videos and music files are invaluable to me. So, backing them up is a no brainer for me, and this drive feels like it has unlimited space for my usage. I don't keep this drive plugged in at all time, so it won't break or malfunction or become corrupt if I kept it on and plugged in at all time. I back up to this drive as soon as I save new pictures and videos into my main drive. Just FYI, this drive stops spinning after a period of inactivity, which is great for longevity, but you'll need to wait 10 seconds for it to "wake up" if you need to access it. If you need immediate access and quick speeds, this is not the drive for you. Go for an SSD.

I got this for doing data back-ups because just my MP3 collection alone is almost two TB! I also have sound clips, movies and other assorted files I like to keep back up copies of for reinstalling, moving to a new computer etc.. Just be careful and make sure you place the drive in a safe place. I accidentally knocked over my last drive and it broke!

Pretty Great Storage Drive. Good speeds for me as an average user storing lots of junk. I haven't used it to try and run games off of it. For the price on sale, it's a good value.

I've bought three of these easystore 14TB drives during Black Friday sales and they are no-brainers, especially then. I use one with a Plex Media Server that stores all my audio, video and picture files with room to spare. The other two drives are on my computer for document and work files storage with one as the main drive and the other as a backup. They are quiet and faster than my older WD 8TB drives they've replaced.

Reliable and massive! When on sale, it's a great USB 3.0 drive for mass storage needs - exp. those big iPhone 4K movies shot in Pro Motion, and HDR photos in RAW. I use it as a backup drive and its relative speed is not all the important. Overall it's a great value.
