      Hard drives of this size are a pretty simple thing. Does it work, and how speedy is it? No, you're not setting speed records but when you're storing 14TB on an external drive, you don't need to. I max out at about 150-160MB/sec which is great for the USB interface, and it serves its purpose as a backup/archival drive. Worth it when you can get it under about $16-$17 per terabyte.

      I really prefer larger drives, so that I do not have to sweat whether something more will fit into it. This WD 14TB definitely delivers on that, but it is also so much more. It has a huge capacity, but a small footprint; is so fast, but so quiet. I can't be happier with the purchase.
