I read reviews here and in other stores, it sound like it is an overall well-rated hard drive, Western Digital is a good brand, but like other hard drives they are sometimes defective. I reached out to Western Digital for help on accessing the drive, we discussed the issue over the course of 2 days and they couldn't figure out the problem. They told me to return it and I did. Best Buy had no issue with my return based on this problem.

It does take some time...so I’m not sure if that’s because the speed of the drive or my computer. Nevertheless, it’s nice, small and helps a lot. Had to buy an adapter for it to fit my MacBook usb-c.

File history was not working properly so got this instead of a large flash drive. Just plug into the USB and install the program and it works great. No problems so far with this product.
