I read reviews here and in other stores, it sound like it is an overall well-rated hard drive, Western Digital is a good brand, but like other hard drives they are sometimes defective. I reached out to Western Digital for help on accessing the drive, we discussed the issue over the course of 2 days and they couldn't figure out the problem. They told me to return it and I did. Best Buy had no issue with my return based on this problem.

But I like to back up my Steam and GOG games instead of re downloading and it works great especially with Linux.

After all, with COVID and lockdown, all items needed are at my fingertips this was. The transfer worked great. It was done in a few hours and then all that was needed was to upload to new computer purchased. Got to say, I was only down about two days between item purchases and services. Very very excellent.

Needed this to store all my digital games on it. Ended up replacing the USB cable that came with it with a USB-y cable. No issues reported.
