I have been purchasing WD external drives for backup for years. It is a product I trust to always work well. It is light weight and reliable and I never consider a different brand. I use this one to transfer data between my desktop and laptop computers that I am currently working on. I do photography and am always working on different pictures so I always have a backup with me. Great product and again, very reliable.

Not very large, but just large enough. Works well and is very convenient for storage. Is exactly what I wanted and reasonably priced.

EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE was not needed for this computer system....but was capable of transferring a terabyte if necessary.

Bought this for my son’s laptop so he would have more storage. He has a lot of stuff downloaded and still has space.

The Good The WD Elements Portable drive offers a large amount of storage space for a low cost. Its simple design allows it to work well with computers, game consoles and other type of hosts. The Bad You have to pay extra to use its included backup software after the introductory 30-day trial. The drive has no security features and carries a short warranty of just one year. The Bottom Line Though not the fastest on the market, the WD Elements' large capacity makes it an excellent deal considering its low price.

Even in Electronics, Trust (in a Device, or Accessory) is hard to be earned—very easy to be lost. These (WD) drives have Earned my Trust in them. This is a very good drive, for most types of uses involving either a Mac, or a PC. My DELL laptop—was overheating, even with its battery taken out—I needed to quickly back up its 500 Gbs of files I was unwilling to lose. In less than an hour, by using this drive, I’d accomplished the Backing-up, before the laptop became too hot, for me to feel safe using it. As long as this drive retains my files, the Laptop—whatever its destiny—is now ready to be worked on, whilst its data remains intact, as long as I give this (WD) drive its proper care. My experience with WD Drives, over the past Decade, has led me to always seek to buy and use them, exclusive from any other brand.

Works great to extend the amount of space in my son's xbox one. cheap, fast, and reliable.

Great external drive, lots of space, and easy to use

This is reasonable. Small, efficient. It was necessary for backing up data.

Needed an external hard drive to store a ton of stuff. This was a great investment. The cost was less than a $100 and I able to take miscellaneous stuff off the hard drive of my laptop that was dying and moved it to another laptop but needed the external drive to park it until everything could be resolved.
