Excellent help at Best Buy--always!

It sets up its own wi fi network to do its backups, and the past week or so that network hasn’t been discoverable so it stopped doing backups…I always hated the thing anyway. So I had to go to Target this morning which is in the same mall as Best Buy. After Target I went to Best Buy and asked a helpful salesman about something to do time machine backups. He pointed me to a rack of Western Digital “Easystore”portable disks, ranging from 1 to I think 6 TB. I bought the 2 TB. It took a visit to Google, but I was able to connect it and reformat it so it would serve as a Time Machine disk, then replace the Airport in Time Machine with the Easystore. It is happily backing up my iMac as we speak. This is a huge improvement over their old “Passport” which I never really liked. We’ll see how it does, but it should function exactly as set up in Time Machine. So happy with Best Buy, have had good luck every time I’ve gone there.

Being honest, I usually order online. But when in a oinch, I know I can run into Best Buy or order and do same day pickup.
