I specifically purchased the mac version of this drive, as I did not want to deal with reformatting, etc. So, I basically plugged it in and Finder found it. I moved my music with minor problems. 2TB is probably more than i need, but it was a good buy...

Format to the device you will be using it with and start saving to it. It is very fast and provides plenty of storage space. I purchased a storage case from amazon which has made transporting and storing, very safe and convenient

The drives are duplicates they back-up each other. Copy the picture directory to one, then the other one. They are small, the size of a deck of cards, powered by USB, and work like large USB drives.
