Must be NTFS to use with Windows platforms!!!

It must be formatted as NTFS, then it is not writable in MacOS. That is a very big disappointment! I will not buy EasyStore again. I am curious why BestBuy only sells that brand name of Western Digital external drives. I bought 2 2TB from BestBuy, and not too happy because of this.

Simply plugged it in to the USB port, told Time Machine to use 'this disk' and away it went. Been working fine ever since. Luckily, haven't had to restore anything from it yet so can't comment on that aspect.

Easy for Windows, not so easy for Mac
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We wound up with two of these. The one for my Windows 10 PC just plugged in and worked flawlessly. The USB 3 interface is quite fast. Getting the second one to work on my wife's iMAC was a challenge. She tried to follow the included directions to reformat it for the Mac, which didn't go well, and the relevant files got deleted. Fortunately, with directions found on the web and the file copies still on my drive, we got it installed and working for backup. (We both have PhD's in astronomy, and 80+ years of computer experience between us - that should tell you something about how NON-simple getting this going on the Mac was!) Recommended for Windows, and only for Mac if you are quite confident in your computer prowess.
