Affordable storage, how I love thee!

I remember what it was like to have to clear off the hard drive to make room for new files, documents, etc. Those days are really pretty much gone with the way compression and storage has advanced. But when you do want to have a little drive to offload some stuff to, or when you want cold-storage options, Western Digital is tried and true! Got this for a photo-backup drive for quick dumps from the phone. HOWEVER - Mechanical drives WILL fail eventually. Use this as a backup, or get a second one for redundancy. Do NOT rely on a single hard drive to store your important files/memories. Don't learn that lesson the hard way.

Quick and reliable for file and system backup

In both cases this drive is quick, reliable, and doesn't get hot. The size is nice and the power is completely sourced by the USB 3.0 connection into my computer. I'd buy this again without question.
