Easy to use, no preparation needed. Plugged in to usb port, went to Xbox menu and configured the drive for use. Drive is almost half full and has been working like a champ

Gift for my son, I had just bought a new computer, and he needed a hard drive. I purchased the Wd hard drive because i had always purchased WD hard drives for my own use and was well satisfied with them.

I bought this because of the price. For some reason it freezes on my MacBook and I have to restart it to get it going again. This is my second questionable product from Western Digital (had a MyCloud Home go out on me) so this will probably be my last purchase from WD.

I purchased this external back-up hard drive on sale. With some minor assistance from WD web site instructions, setup of the portable hard drive was pretty straightforward. The only somewhat complicated aspect of the setup was that I needed to revise the partitioning of the hard drive. The initial setup allocated less than 100 GB to useful memory. Following online help, I quickly re-allocated 1.9 TB to memory available for backup purposes. I've run two back-ups so far, the initial full back-up and one incremental back-up; both ran smoothly.

WD is the best. Have been using WD drives for years now, no complains.

I bought this drive because it was fairly inexpensive for Mac Time Machine backup. 6 months in and it works perfectly so far. No unexpected heating or slowing down. I’m buying one for my fiancé’s new Mac.
