When you first plug the WD in you copy the UTILITIES to your home screen and that's it. From that point on you copy what ever you need to the WD, in my case several gigs of vacation video, move it back and forth to the hard drive unplug if you want and plug it in the next day and it just works.

Great Hard Drive!

I got the 2TB model and it has been good so far for 6 months of heavy usage. It's not the fastest drive out there but it does get the job done well. The only thing that I wish was a USB-C connector. I sometimes feel I will break off the big connector that's on it. But I use it with a desktop so I don't have any issues.
