    I bought this portable HD to use as external storage for my PS4. This is perfect for that and provides me with loads of excess storage. My only grievance with this HD is when I connect it to my computer. There is no password protection, meaning anyone can just plug it up and access all of your files. This isn’t TOO big of a problem for me, but if you are purchasing this with the hopes of having password protected security, this isn’t the hard drive for you. But that issue aside, the hard drive serves its purpose.

    I am not too technically adept. To be honest, I was nervous about how technically involved the backing up of my computer's hard drive was going to be. When I plugged in the drive, it provided me with very simple instructions on how to back up the hard drive. I was extremely happy with how easy this was.

    I upgraded from the 1 TB hard drive that I had for quite some time to keep all my memories of the videos etc. so just by necessity I had to upgrade. Give a few more years it’s likely I’ll need another TB or 2. WD has been a leader in this area for some time and continues to be.
