Most PC's usually come with at least a one tb drive but even that is hardly enough any more especially if you are a gamer. This drive fits the bill and I got it at a good price.

Plus, it's USB 3.0 for speed and backward compatibility. It also come with free software for both PCs and Macs that looks useful, but I haven't fully explored it (WD Discovery.exe).

I needed a portable storage device to consolidate 3 computers information, to sort and save as a back up and I had used this brand before in the past. I would highly recommend that everyone does this instead of saving data on the actual hard drive.

Every 3 or 4 months, I attach one to my computer, backup what need and then store it in a safe place. No issues so far.

If you need extra storage this is a great option, all you need to consider is cost vs. size.
