Works fine, plugged it into my PS4 and it works great as a cheap storage.

Easy too set-up and 2TB is a huge amount of storage. USB 3.0 connection was (I thought) slower than expected, but I was downloaded a lot of pictures (up to 12GB) in one folder. Great as a backup to another ext hard drive. Would recommend to anyone.

This hard drive exceeds my expectations. I have backed up all of my pictures and videos, as wee ll as my desktop computers's software and data and documents. It responds superbly when hooked upto my laptop. Plenty more space for more.

I bought this to transfer large data files (photos and music) from my old desktop computer to a new one and it was perfect. Fast and easy. I use it now as an external hard drive as a backup data drive.

I purchased this external disk as a Time Machine disk for my grandson. He is currently attending his first semester at University at Buffalo. This drive worked well with no problems, Easy to format, add as a time machine drive ,etc.

I had this hard drive for nine months and while I loved using it during that time, one day it stopped showing up on my computer when I plugged it in. I took it to Geek Squad and they kindly assisted me straight away. Unfortunately they couldn’t get it to show up on their computers either likely due to a physical error and all of my data is gone, unless I want to spend at least 500$ to attempt a data recovery. To me, the whole point of this drive was as a secure backup for important files which are now lost unless I want to pay at least five times my initial investment. If you have any concerns regarding data security, I would recommend doing more research and finding a reliable device. Even if it’s more expensive, it’s better to pay a higher initial investment than to be in my shoes facing a steep cost less than a year later. Either that, or buy two and keep that second one as a backup and take very very good care of it. After this experience, I may start looking towards other manufacturers or data storage techniques as I don’t want to lose everything again.

I purchased this Hard drive for my daughter to use at school so she is able to transfer her projects between computers. She likes that it has a lot of storage space and she is able to transfer files quickly between devices.

I bought this to use as extra storage for my PS4. It was simple to format and now all of my downloads go straight to the external hard drive. I haven’t had a problem with storage since I bought it.

Got this for backups on our laptop, worked great out of the box and a good buy from bestbuy which was on sale. Also did a disk image . No problems at all to date , would recommend buying this , good product.

My computer files, documents and pictures are too valuable to lose. Backup, backup, backup! WD external hard drives are the best! I can easily take it between home and school. Much easier than carrying a laptop.

best buy wants an immediate review and i suppose getting data onto the drive has been what one would expect. the real test is in how the drive performs over time - especially as there become more overwrites and limited free space. all of my wd drives have been internal drives and they have all held up pretty well. this is my first 2TB external and it is not quite a speedy as my external seagates but they are 1TB drives so i imagine that to be the major factor. but that is by no means a complaint, just a comparison that may be more apples to oranges than winesaps to granny smiths. at any rate, though i did so because of a requirement to end this post, i honestly could no more recommend than dissuade a purchase at this point. it's storing music files (hd wav & flac) and i have no complaints about playback performance even when playlists are culled from various albums that i assume to be scattered all over the drive. a better test might be to run films or video games but that is not why i bought the unit. if i lose a treasured album, then i'll be back with one heck of a review! otherwise, it's fine for my needs.

I had just bought a new Canon and my memory cards got filled up during vacation. This hard drive was easy to use and allowed me to download everything from my camera to free up all the space I needed for more pictures

I wanted something easy to use to transfer pictures from my computer and this was the right choice. I'm "technology challenged" and was worried that I wouldn't be able to get the job done but it was very easy. I highly recommend this hard drive.

It did just what it was supposed to with all the extras for someone who had no clue how to do it! :) Happy customer! For the price when I got it, it was on sale a bit but it's still so user-friendly!!!!

Bought this as additional storage to complement the SSD that came with the desktop. Easy USB connection and fast data transfer. Tiny size sits right on top of the computer and is basically unnoticeable.
