Almost every review, there, reports the same issue that I have. I've only had this drive for 3 months and, all of the sudden, the drive is no longer recognized by my computer. I bought a new cable, even though I knew that wasn't the problem since I tried cables that were working with other drives and tried this drive in 2 other computers with the same outcome - nothing. Do yourself a favor and check out the reviews on the WD site before you make your decision.
