    It’s a storage device that should store files. My computer doesn’t pick it up though. Not sure if this is because of the computer or this. It does pick up everything else but I’ll exchange it and see.

    I bought this unit to ensure I could reload data to a new hard drive if the occasion should occur. I use the unit sparingly. It is normally not connected unless I am backing up my hard drive data. I haven't tried to download the data saved because I haven't had a need to do so. When/If my hard drive in the computer has to be replaced then I will see how the back up unit does to down load data back to the new hard drive. Till then, I haven't utilized the unit to its fullest extent.
