    I had just had portable hard drive fail and the timing was perfect for this to go on sale. The previous one lasted me 3 years of heavy daily use. If this does the same, I'l be happy. So far I've been pleased with WD units. I would prefer a metal over a plastic case. This drive does seem to stay cool so that's good.
