I knew my PC was starting to hiccup towards crashing. I bought two of these to back up all my file and photos in preparation for restoring my dual OS boot up, (WIN Home 64 Bit, and WIN 10 Pro 64 Bit). I only had 2 GB total storage and boot up on two 1 TB HDD's. I just wanted to have more than needed for ease and future data storage, (such as my GoPro vids storage for my YouTube channel). I always like to plan forward. They were on sale and I could not resist. So easy to use, and I got all my files saved before my OS messed up enough to matter. I've only used one of my two purchased drives so far, but the second one is for my GoPro future use. Helps keeps thing organized and separated. I can take all the vid files and use them on different PC's for storage and editing, (such as a laptop while traveling).

Excent storage for pics and docs. Easy to use! Worth the money!

Has worked out O.K. for transferring files from my old computer to the new one and backing up my photo albums on the old unit. Will for long term need to upgrade to an SSD portable for use on my old and my new computer.

Easy to use, holds lots of data and is fast when searching for saved files. 2TB is a huge amount of storage and should be plenty.

No problems connecting to USB2 or 3. Quick storage solution, very portable. Have several of these and never had any problems, unlike other major brands. Give it 10 seconds to power down before moving it to make sure you get maximum life out of this spinning disk.

Using this to back-up a MacBook via Time Machine. Though there is an extra step to make it Mac ready, it works smoothly and efficiently.

My purchase of this external hard drive was relatively painless; the most painful thing being paying for the item, but that's expected. The most painful thing after having purchased this item was having a Western Digital employee help me to complete the initial setup/formulation for this equipment over the phone. I was not able to give this equipment a proper name while doing this, but this did not impede the setup thankfully. This process should be much less of a hardship (in my opinion).
