The provided software, however, leaves a lot to be desired, as i couldn't get it to 'back up. the computer's HDD. So I just copied the D: drive to the EasyStore and it worked well enough to provide a backup in case the main SDD dies.

It can be used like a thumb drive, or used to make complete back ups. There is certainly more has more than enough space for your average user and it’s quite fast

It can be used for automatic backup or just as an additional storage device. We have a ton of pictures stored on our laptop and used this to off-load them to recover space on the hard drive. Have had no problems at all.

Immediately re-initialized the drive to rid it of any WD-provided software (which isn't necessary and, for a Mac, is detrimental). Otherwise, it's plug-n-play goodness. Will try to update this review in another 6 months and 1 year.

Speedy and simple - what more could you want?

Took about 5 minutes the first time I plugged it in for all the drives to be updated, but since then, I can just plug it in and transfer info. Have had it for about 5 months. Plus, it is pretty fast. No complaints from me and I would buy again if I ever needed more than 2T of hard drive.
