Obviously the hard drive compatible with laptops and desktops. I was hesitant to buy this since it uses a USB 3.0 and I was not confident with this working with my PS4, let alone introducing a virus and mess up everything. But this is worth the buy, especially since it cost just a bit more than the 1TB hard drive.

I bought it for the XBox One and it works great as an external hard drive. However, initially when I plugged it in, the xbox was reading it only as a media device. I had to do a "reset" on my Xbox, but it was a reset that allowed me to keep all of my content installed. Once the reset was completed, it worked perfectly

bought this to transfer thousands of pictures from laptops to. over 10,000 pictures. it barely made a dent in the storage capacity of this HD. worked smoothly and right out of the box. just plugged it into the laptop and hit transfer. took maybe 10 mins for the biggest batch which was over 5000 pictures.

I used mine for a backup of a laptop computer. It is small and easy to carry.

The hard drive is very reasonably priced for the amount of memory provided. It is light and very portable. It is also easy to use and set up. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Was maxing out my 1TB MacBook Pro but don't need to get a new laptop, since this one is working great. (Besides, I don't know if a SSD internal is made for this in a larger size yet.) Adding the compact Easy Store WD 2tb USB external was perfect. Sure, I have to take it to & from work with the laptop, but it's so small, it's easy to do. Flawless performance so far, and I cleared a ton of space on my primary drive. loads fast, migrates files transparently. Biggest item on the external is the iTunes folder (260 gb to date), and it's smooth as ever. Left photos on the primary lest I ever have an issue with the external. My experience is that Photos behave better left on the default drive and location. Very happy. All is backed up with Time Machine hourly at each of the two locations I work most (3 TB each place - should bump that up soon), so there is a redundancy to be safe.

I already have another WD that is used solely to backup my MacBook Pro. I bought this one to store various video projects. No problems from setup to use. If you are using this for a Mac, be sure to properly format before using, otherwise it will default for PC and you might have issues.
