If you have a new Xbox or ps5 this comes very handy especially ps5 storage. I use this all for my ps4 games and only have ps5 games installed on the external hd.

I record my gameplay videos and send them to this so it doesn't clutter up my hard drive on laptop. Then I edit and upload the content online. Works fine for me

This is a fantastic unit. Simply plugged it into a USB 3.0 port, and it was immediately recognized. Transferred files to be backed up and the data transfer occurred very quickly. About 3/4 of the capacity is now occupied, and I'm considering buying another one for additional back up purposes. You won'take a mistake owning one of these.
