I use these to store my music collection (I'm a mobile DJ with a rather extensive collection). I like how these are thinner (and lighter?) now than they used to be. I can't speak much for the speed since I use flash drives for when I'm actually playing back music, but for the price and my intent (long term backup storage) I think this will work great. I've used Seagates in the past and have been much happier with Western Digital's hardware due to some reliability issues with Seagate.
An amazing external hd I’ll purchase a dozen times

Bought my first one for my ps5 I would of preferred an ssd external hd but the price is out of my range.I was suprised that this gets the job done exactly the way I need it. I ended up buying two I still have my 5 tb that I purchase 2 years ago and it’s still kicking. I know after some time they tend to give out but so far nothing. Thank god I never had an issue. I feel confident about this product.

This is a very basic external drive that connects via USB. I have a 4-port hub that I connect it to and it works fine. Most laptops no longer have a CD drive built in to try and keep them lighter and thinner; and, since I only need one occasionally, having this does what I need. It was very reasonably priced and easy to connect.

About as simple a way to store backups or data from several devices you may want to easily move to another as you can find. I first used it with a phone I was going to stop using. I wanted to keep everything that was on the phone but didn't need all of it transferred to my new phone. So I simply backed it up to this drive. I did have to format it from my phone when I first plugged it in, but it works great with my PC and my tablet too.

I love that it’s around the size of a cell phone and barely takes up any space. The issue I have with it is that in order to make it compatible with Mac you need to download software from the western digital website, create an account with them, and create an account with MyCloud. None of that though guarantees it will work with your version of Safari, even if you have the current version. The process caused a lot of unnecessary frustration and it would be a lot easier if it just operated like a flash drive. Luckily, there is a procedure to do just that and you can avoid the headache, otherwise I would not recommend this for Mac users.

Ready to run out the box. I've had it running as an external drive constantly since I bought it. It only turns off when I power down or move it to a different computer occasionally. I'd say it's only been off for a total of a week since I've had it.

I really like this product even though my first one broke. I love the amount of storage on that beast. but I don't like the cost. it's a very high-end product which I found very useful for the low-end storage on my laptop. I recommend it just don't move it while it's plugged in or it's gonna break. I feel very satisfied with this purchase and I highly recommend it because it holds all of my steam games and more. the only thing I didn't really like about it was the sketchy app I had to download for it (but the app isn't essential in most cases) i really enjoyed the quality of this product. if you are looking to buy an external drive, look for one like this!

I've been so pleased with the Western Digital external Hard Drive. It is fast and very easy to use. It is great as my backup drive as I've learned the hard way that backing up regularly can save a system.
Thanks so much!!

I liked this Western digital external over the others because of the rounded corners. Very convenient size and easy to store on top of the tower case that I have.

The drive is small, and being plug in play, it worked from the start. I've had no issues or problems with it. Initially, I used it to transfer data files from and old computer I had, to a new one I bought. Now I use nit as an external back u8p, a just in case drive, and to transfer data from my desktop to my laptop. Being a musician, I use the desktop at home to write music and the laptop at rehersals and gigs. Soi far no problems.
