Plug-and-play on Windows via USB 3.0/3.2. Compact, bus-powered design (no external power brick). Cons It's a mechanical hard drive (HDD), so transfer speeds are much slower than modern SSDs. More vulnerable to drops and shock than an SSD.

Great for PS4 Game Storage

I purchased this device because I needed more storage space for my PS4 that only has 500GB of internal storage. My son and I were constantly deleting games to make room for others. I finally gave in and decided to purchase an external USB to alleviate that frustration. My reason for purchasing this specific device was size (2GB) which I didn't see us filling up, and price (on sale for $69.99 from $129.99). I've hOnly had it for one week, but I can say that I am totally happy I made the decision to expand my PS4 storage. I have space galore for all my games and they load fast and without issue. I would recommend this device to anyone with similar needs. I'm picking up the Xbox One X on November 7th, and while it has a bigger internal hard drive than my PS4 I fully plan on getting an external USB for it, too. This WD drive will be perfect.
