Excellent Drive for CM TV Over-the-air Memory

Purchased for my Channel Master over the air TV DVR (Google Android streaming TV device). This particular WD model was one model recommended for storage. I'm a cable TV cutter.

great for backing up media files

Not the most sturdy feeling unit considering it would most likely be used in a mobile setting, but has done the job so far. The one problem I had was that the drive was not recognized by a media player that wanted to see an MBR partition, and this drive is set up as a GPT. Took me a while to figure out what was going on, and then find a way to convert the partition structure.

I had another brand but unfortunately, I couldn't retrieve my data after 2 years, so I am trying this one, and so far so good.

Passport Hard Drives

But, just make sure you have everything backed up on a hard drive that you don't use, because they have a tendency to hiccup, and if that happens then the hard drive becomes useless.

Does the job at good cost

Start up time for games taking an extra 30 seconds is worth the budget cost of 2tb for $60. Solid build quality too, doesn’t feel cheap. Has good weight and matte black is a clean simple look.
