This way I'll have all my data, photos, etc.

It worked well to clear enough space to complete my project. I left this plugged into the computer like the other drives. My computer would not boot up until I unplugged this device. I tried again with the same results. Not a completely straightforward process.

Good Product but needs better instructions

I had to call a techie person who knows Macs and he came over and formatted the drive for me. if I did not have access to this help I would have had to return the product.
