    This backup drive did not come with the software I expected to seamlessly run a back up immediately. I own a prior version of the WD drive and it came with all the software needed to immediately use it. I brought the unit to the Geek Squad who helped me out and got the software onto my laptop. Thanks Geek Squad. Once the software was installed it worked fine.

    If you are a parent with kids and a DSLR camera... you know that this here will help you store all those photos taken. We always backup our family photos and love that we can just plug this in and slide them over.

    Have been backing up my macbooks to WD external drives for more than a decade, and the only time I need to buy a new one is when I need more capacity (as happened again). Small, quiet and reliable - what more would you like in an external drive?
