    This b/u drive is not as good in my opinion as my old Seagate b/u plus external drive as the new drive did not come with the software or program that allows me to set up a scheduled back up routine

    This is the drive I'm using as expandable internal storage for my Nvidia shield (purchased another larger drive for external use). Again the read/write speeds are adequate, and I don't notice any significant lag loading programs, playing files, etc... I can't compared with a SSD drive, but for my use it's perfectly adequate.

    I always back up my hard drives (especially since I enjoy SLR photography) on a regular basis. This regular backup (And rotating a pair of backup drives to make sure everything I need to save is saved), then you never lose anything (except the most immediate file you are working on) at any time (and yes, Hard drives on computers do Fail -- thus the need to back up your files!)
