Excellent product! Really like it and I also gifted to someone!

I use this to back up my laptop. It is replacing a 9 year old Seagate USB 2.0 external drive. The difference in speed is incredible. Maybe 10 times faster. I am using a custom backup program I wrote to mimic the software that came with my Seagate so I can't comment on the WD software. I am very happy with my purchase.

It does what it say, store a bunch of stuff to make your life easier

This is a very good portable HDD that you can use for back up or storage whatever you want. Also the HDD comes with a pre-build software that help to make back ups for your system. You can choose the intervals of your back ups since it let you customize it.

Good buy for the cost. I bought one for my daughter and now we have peace of mind.

Easy to use, great price. Good way to make sure you have all your files if your computer fails.

This external hdd comes in handy. Just hooked it up to my Windows 10 pc, and it worked right out of the box. Some files, I want to keep copies of away from my pc, in a different place. USB 3.0 is much faster than 2.0, just remember you need a USB 3.0 socket on your laptop or pc to take advantage of the speed.

Does what is intended. No power supply cable needed. Makes a slight humming noise when transferring data, but what typical hard drive doesn't.

Good value for general storage use. Easy to set up but quite frustrating to format for use with Xbox.

Didn't work well with windows 8.1. Geek Squad got me past that problem and them it's been fine.

Put data on it and it stays so far only time will tell

Purchased this unit as a backup and storage drive for my older MacBook Pro. I had no problems formatting and partitioning this drive and it has been completely reliable. I own several WD drives and have used them for backup and storage on my Apple, PC, and Android devices for many years now.

Works great. Use it for my Xbox S. Fast transfer rate.

Bought this external drive to back up almost 1 TB of memory. I really like the 3.0 transfer speed. So far no issues. It really is easy and has a cool sleek design. If I had to complain about something it would be the fact that it didn't come with a travel case, but that wasn't enough to knock it down a star for me.

Ten years ago, I probably spent more money to buy a storage half the size of this.

I have been struggling with hard drive space on my PS4 for quite some time so I have been keeping an eye out for a good deal on an external drive since support was added. This one works great, just plug it in, format it, and you're set. Like most HDs these days it comes with the USB 3.0 cable needed for the PS4 too.

I bought this to backup one of my PCS for which I had limited desk space. the drive is small enough that I can slide right between the lamp and the side of the PC. It's very quiet and doesn't get very warm while in use. since it runs directly from the USB port it doesn't need a separate power adapter.
