This is plug-and-play for Windows users. Mac users (as myself) can use the Windows formatting as-is with no problem, but I prefer the drive to be Mac native. No problem! Plug the drive in, launch "Disk Utility" and reformat to Macintosh Journaled. Takes but a minute. Go for it!

I'll admit, I don't know why this is cheaper than the "My Passport" drives. I bought one of those before, and I am impressed with both drives. I use this one for my Time Machine backups. It did need to be formatted before using, but that didn't take very long. Very happy with my purchase!

So far, so good. As long as they don't crash as many others have eventually done.

Great deal, buought this for my smart as it ran out of atorage

It's very lightweight, and durable. It can take a beating from being tossed about in a laptop bag.

Directions were not the greatest. Be prepared to have to download a program to use this specific storage.

My labtop does not have alot of money space. This helps to save doccuments

I bought this as a backup for my computer to store away if I ever had a catastrophic issue with my computer It worked very well my computer recognized it immediately and I was able to backup my computer with no issues whatsoever I recommend this to anybody who needs a reliable drive

It's good and works well as expected. Computer (Windows and Ubuntu Linux operating system) recognizes it right away. I only use it to backup and save my files and do not use the software that comes with it but it works well. Make sure you get it when it's on sale to save some money.

I bought two of these recently. I have bought WD external drives before and found them super. I needed larger ones for photos and things I don't reference as much. These drives do not disappoint! The connect without a problem and the speed is perfect for moving photos and documents.

This unit is small and portable but has a large backup capability. It is easy to install and if you don't need all of the whistles and bells that it can provide, simply load it and manually back the information to it. Very good unit for piece of mind for backup to your computer.
