Despite having the software installed on my computer, the drive wasn’t showing up on my Mac. I have a newer model and it isn’t compatible with the newer macs which would have been good to know. I did return it to buy the WD HD for Mac. If you have a PC I do recommend!

This is one of two external portable hard drives that maintain our personal correspondence and data as we do not store the aforementioned information on our computers' hard drives. Also, Best Buy provided this device at a very good price.

Works great. needs to have USB-C support for all drives. With increased drive capacity transfer rates become even more critical

As a Mac user I had to reformat the drive through terminal. That is go into that secret place on the computer where you enter commands through text. That is sure to scare some people. It seemed to work fine at first but then the backup stalled. So not great. I still haven’t been able to successfully back up my computer, but that might come down to the fact that it’s on its last leg. If you use Windows I imagine this would be excellent.

This hard drive is able to hold all the pictures and videos my family has taken since the early 2000s, and we still have so much more space to use up. This device can easily store an entire lifetime's worth of memories and perhaps even more.

The hard drive in my laptop crashed. I replaced it with this SSD, I downloaded Windows 10 on a usb drive and made a clean install. It reregistered itself along with my Office Suite. Easy for this novice and now my computer is so fast and snappy. Totally happy.

I picked this up to expand the storage on my xbox one S. Small size and easy plug and play setup.

I bought this device to replace a SanDisk Extreme 500 drive which failed after four months. This WD drive failed as soon as I attempted to reconfigure it for Mac OS X High Sierra with the OS's Disk Utility. I have since purchased a different Mac-formatted WD device, which accepted a Carbon Copy Cloner backup and allowed me to boot my computer from the backup drive. Might work for a Windows user, cannot recommend for a Mac user.

We bought this back up with the intent of using it when I replaced my desktop with a 1 TB HD with a laptop with a 256 GB SSD. It has done exactly what we needed it to do by backing up my old files while having gobs of space for new files. No problems using it at all.

Being a professional photographer on a particularly busy weekend, I purchased this external hard drive to help me get a little more work out of my weekend. I was easily able to do this by organizing content onto the external hard drive for future use.

Pretty simple. It’s a hard drive. It’s quiet and works. There’s not much more to it.

I love the compact size of this drive and the amount of storage is excellent!
