My 1st visit to shop for a backup was in store, but later Geek Squad couldn’t even figure out how to make it work. When I bought it it said it was compatible with Apple, after online research & taking w/some IT family friends they said it could be reformatted to work with Apple & that should make it compatible. I made an appointment with Geek Squad at a different store than I 1st spoke with and the 1st guy said it might be a time consuming appointment & they didn’t have time that night. But he said the process wasn’t complicated I think my Next Geek Squad member may have been in first few days on the job (?) and he admitted he knew nothing about Apple. A Coworker stepped into help but was busy w/other customers as well. But they couldn’t figure it out together either. After a 2+ hr appointment One of them suggested I purchase one made specifically for Apple. Something not 1 person mentioned to me during this whole fiasco. Wish would have been WONDERFUL to have that thrown out as an option in the 1st shopping experience - or the 1st geek squad appointment. And they weren’t sure if this product was even still eligible for return. So after after my In store informational visit, online shopping, final purchase of the item, and 2 failed Geek Squad appointments my product was thankfully returnable (by the skin of its teeth) Luckily I was able to find a sitter for that last appointment- but a lot of rigmarole and lost patience. Probably works great on other brands? But not for me
