this thing has not failed me yet. hot swappable too

This is my third WD hard drive and it is awesome..

Value for money. Worth buying. Fast and reliable..

Hooked it up to my MacBook- reformatted for Mac and then did a full drive backup. Good speed. 2 yrs ago bought a 1TB drive for $20 more. Good product and great price.

Very good drive, have had no problems and a good price

I put this on my mothers computer for backups. She has no idea what it does so I told it's keep her photos safe. Now she's happy, I'm happy and everyone is happy.

It works quietly in the background to help preserve your data using minimal PC resources. You can select an automatic, continuous or scheduled backup option to instantly back up your files.

Works great great value for ps4 extended memory...

Purchased this hard drive for my sons xbox. Drive is very small only needs the usb cable no separate power cable needed. Drive is quiet can not hear it spinning. Very good external drive

Was a gift, he loved it. Work great with the game.

Good, easy access through browser and local computer

I bought this portable hard drive mainly to use for backing up my main computer. It works great for that and for transferring files between different computers. The USB 3 speed is fast!

This drive was easy to copy data onto. Plug and play

Great little hard drive. used it for backing up my dish dvr. worked well. took forever to transfer from my dvr to this but I think it was just because of the large file sizes.

I would recommend this for anyone wanting to keep information on an external hdd that is not wanting to have great speed. If needed faster speeds get something with a usb type c port.

I use mainly for sneaker net (carrying files from my computer to others). Also use for back up (keep one at home & one at office & periodically copy files and switch locations. Cable a little flimsy for heavy plug / unplug I'm always afraid one of the plugs will fail.

For the price that I paid it was worth every penny.

Just needed a place to store some extra information

This is my first western digital product, and my last. I will be returning this momentarily. Out of the box it is showing error after error, my computer will not read it and support from western digital is practically nonexistent and basically told me that the unit is dead and to return it to the store. That does not give me a very Secure feeling knowing that this is guarding important files. I have a Toshiba external drive that has run flawlessly for five years now, my poor decision to invest in western digital has now become apparent. I wish I had read all of the other reviews rather than just looking at the star rating. This is a very common issue with the western digital drives.

This hard drive is an excellent back up solution. Used it to back up three laptop computers so that we have secure back up copies stored away from portable mobile devices.
