Bought this and it immediately made a clicking noise when using it. I returned it and 2 months later this one fails.

It was purchased for use with an Apple computer which is was advertised to be compatible with, unfortunately it was a nightmare to try to program the thing to work with a Mac (typical Apple problem). Finally got it to work BUT there are a number of limitations which keep it from doing everything an external drive would normally do. I've used similar drives with Windows computers and they work great but I would NEVER recommend trying to use this with a Mac/Apple, too frustrating!

Not complaining, but it's well known. If you don't buy an official "apple" product, there's always some checklist of things you have to do before full functionality. It was not that bad, and I honestly expected worse. Alas, up and running and works great a few weeks into the purchase.

Great product, Price-point all seem to have struck the right cord, except the aesthetics of it. It feels like you are holding a plastic Altoids box. Even that would not do justice to Altoids, they look much better. Otherwise, sturdy product works great - size and price point is perfect.

This perfect for time machine backups on my Mac or storage expansion. The only complaint I have is that I wish it had come with an optional USB-C cable. It was quickly remedied by a trip to another local store for the USB 3 to USB-C cable and less than $10.

Using this as my external HDD for my PS4. So far no issues. I do not notice any loading gains or losses for games loading off the external vs internal HDD

It does back up everything. BUT IT DOESN'T KEEP IT ON MY LAPTOP! RIGHT NOW STUCK WITH IT AND NOTHING ON MY LAPTOP! IF THIS EXTERNAL DRIVE CRASHES I LOSE EVERYTHING!

I had trouble with this on my Mac and had to download a WD program which stays open on desktop all the time - very annoying. Not the first WD drive that has not worked with my MACs.

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. It was on her list. She did all the research and chose this one over the rest.

This is the cheapest HDD you can find but works perfectly! The only negative side is the material, too plastic. Hopefully I would never drop it.

Used this to back up my PC and it worked great. Also used this to restore my backup files to my new harddrive it was amazing!

it is functioning well. i did not bother with the software that came with it, preferring to use my own to do backups of several systems.

My pc is filled with memory due to photos stored from the cell phone of my wife and daughter. Therefore, i bought this drive to store them outright.

I bought this product at discount. Using this for more than a year still getting the same read and write speed.

Attached instantly to my system, works perfectly, stays connected, good speed even over USB 2.0, includes serviceable backup software.

I have been burning backups from other storage to this device. So far it has handled hours of writing like a champ. We'll see how it does on longevity.

Great drive it lasts a long time but fills up fast with all my data the usb port is not great quality but its ok
