Great inexpensive backup

So far, it has been performing really well - although the write speeds could have been better. It averages 40-50MB/s while writing large files, even though read reaches 80-90 MB/s.

Great Value but Slow

Could not install software and WD was no help

It got to 18% and froze. I tried several times with the same results. I contacted WD via chat and after several questions and waiting, I was told that I really didn't need to install the software. I could use the device via file explorer. I asked what the software would allow me to do and was told that it would allow me to trouble shoot. I am returning it today.

Problems with WD software
