This is my second one of these. I keep one attached to my docking station to hold image backups of my laptop. The 2nd one I plan to use when I need portable storage. My 1st one has been in service for over 2 years now with no issues.

Our house has the old Dish VIP211K receivers, which are being replaced by the newer Hopper receiver. We prefer to hang on to our old 211's a while longer. The DVR function on these units have (in the past) required a 2TB hard drive with a separate DC power supply. They are almost impossible to find now. To my delight I tried this one and it works great, Plus it is smaller and less expensive than the other one. I will buy a couple more for back ups.

Maybe it’s me but I can’t figure out how to make this work. It says it’s running the backup but then nothing is on it. It did not come with instructions.

I bought this in March,2018 and on 10/30/2018 it quit working properly. I contacted the Geek Squad and they got it to work but told me to replace it because they had to reformat it and Windows was showing that the drive was showing that it was going to die soon. I am taking it back to the store with hopes of a replacement of something better. It has a 2 year warranty, so we will see what happens next.

Lots of research, hardcore gamers say, get an SSD, but a 2 TB SSD is nearly $200. This one is under $100 for 5 TB, i may not need more than 2GB but probably a good idea to buy something this large to back up your PS4. It works great. My question to gamers is that, PS4 doesn’t have an internal SSD, i dont think then, an external SSD should matter that much?

Stores my games but man is it finicky. If I don’t have the usb cable propped up against the wall, my Xbox doesn’t recognize it.

Followed all the directions, but didn't work. Contacted tech support, again did all I was told, and it didn't work. Took it to an IT man I know and he got it working. BUT, it worked only about a month and it is now not working again. When I access the machine it keeps telling me that it can't back up my computer. I am now looking for a different product.

Nice size drive but the backup software is horrible. It does not work. Error every time. I have to manually backup everything. Would not buy again

Had a hard time navigating this hard drive. Had to involve tech support. Still not sure info was moved to hard drive. Ended up returning.

This Hard Drive is exactly what I wanted to back up all my files, it was an easy fast transfer and now all my documents, photos and other files are safe from whenever my laptop finally kicks the bucket and can be transferred to a new one.

awful quality and performance! cheap plastic - clunky, loud and overall awfulness!! remove this item from your stores!!

Stopped working after a couple months would be great if it worked 100%.

This external drive was a simple plug and play; very user friendly. Its proven to be stable and fast, very impressive for accessing my daughters gaming file when she's ready to have a go. It works...I recommend!

I love this product-- after a brief moment of anxiety! I already own two external hard drives, purchased some years ago, so when I took this product out of the box I was initially alarmed because I didn't see any way to plug it into the outlet. But then I realized that these days that's not required-- it gets its power through its connection to your computer. A lovely simplification! Another delight-- how small and light it is, unlikely the clunky, heavy devices I already own. In short, the tech industry has made external hard drives smaller (yet more capacious) and better while somehow also making them cheaper! I hope my prose conveys how pleased I am, but this product really deserves poetry! Walt Whitman, where are you?

This hard drive crapped out after two months. Still working on getting a replacement from Western Digital's warranty process

This did not store any of my files. I read the instructions carefully but this just didn’t work for me.

So...needed this backup product...take it out of the package, cable, hard drive , and one pictograph....oh just download god knows what..and try to open the right file to activate the thing....yeah ok. thought we had something backed up....nope!! Really not a consumer friendly product. Best Buy and their return policy is the best.

Couldn’t get set up ended up taking to Apple store and they couldn’t either. They said to return product to place of purchase.

It has a lot of memory which was nice but one day it quit working on me and now I lost a bunch of my files.

Came out defected. Couldn't get it replace. It keep freezing when I tried to upload or download something from it or to it.
