Great portable hard drive, gets the job done, highly recommended.

There is enough storage for all of my documents and pictures.

Not the easiest user interface initially to get the software installed, but once that was done it is fairly streamlined.

Came with tiny print paper document, no instructions in box. Customer support chat was intermittently slow response. The instruction document downloaded was extensive and intimidating . I think I bought the wrong product. I have a hard drive backup that I bought 5 years ago and it was far simpler to use.

Used this to repurpose a drive from my wife's laptop after installing a new one. Works under it's own power. Easy peezy.

not durable will stop working for no reason handle with kids gloves slightest jar and it will stop working

Initially bought this and was using it to back up my mac via time machine. A few months ago my mac said it was low on storage so I moved some files off my mac hard drive onto this one. Everything was going fine - I've never had any problems opening or ejecting anything and then all of a sudden I plug in the drive and almost all my word docs are corrupt. Nothing else, just word docs, and not even all of them - just most of them. I tried chatting with WD, waited over 30 minutes and the chat window "canceled" and they suggested I send an email. Eventually I called and although the man on the phone was trying to be helpful, all he could offer me was a replacement device. The last thing I want is the SAME hard drive that got me to where I am right now!!! Really frustrated because everything was going so smoothly with the drive. I keep it in my home office drawer as I only need it when I'm working there, never taken it out of the house or out of the room for that matter. My next hard drive won't be from WD that's all I can guarantee.

Will NEVER by another Easystore drive. Barely used, but out of warranty and won't maintain a connection. Have tried multiple ports, cables, hubs (powered and unpowered), and PCs. Connects, but drops connection repeatedly during any file transfers. Because connector is soldered to drive, I can't just stick it in a different enclosure and continue using, like I can with every other external HDD I own.

I had to return this external drive as it is NOT compatible with Windows 11

Excellent Read/Write speed and operates quietly. The overall build quality of this drive is great. Many external drives are in flimsy easily scratched enclosures but that isn't the case here. It also has an activity light which is rare these days.

Purchased this drive 8/20. It failed 9/24. Is 4 years an acceptable lifetime for a portable drive? (Model: WDBAJN0020BBK-WESN SKU: 6406513) I don't know. I would certainly hope not. Maybe the newer models have a lower failure rate.

Instructions on use and setup in box - not true. User manual is on hard drive which must be activated before one can access instructions. Next one must register the purchase with WD (Western Digital), which requires navigating a maze of product selections with pull down tabs to properly select correct item. Again, definitely NOT user friendly! After working through set up / install ran a first backup that failed. Hint - ensure that no files being backed up have same file name. After second try at back up, I scheduled an automatic backup on a week day and time of my choice. Automatic backup failed! One must call technical support to change software settings from manual to automatic. Now I hope time will prove that this external hard drive was worth the effort.

Worked good for about two weeks. There was a squeak and then it quit. Currently awaiting a factory replacement, lost all data stored.

This drive works fine now, but it took hours to figure out the setup with my Macbook. It was extremely frustrating and complicated.

Worked exactly for what I needed it for. No issues with loading.

Good for basic storage. It is very light, thin and design is vety nice

The drive itself is likely fine but the Shutterfly 'free item' is misleading. It says free with purchase. I purchased 2 and only got one code. I am told that if I had purchased each on separate orders I'd have gotten two codes. No where that I have found does it say you can only get one code per order. Only advice from BestBuy CS was to return one of them and buy again to get the other code...what a pain.

I am very good with computers. I plugged this in expecting it to have software automatically download where I could set-up a back-up. It did not. I had to go to the website and download another program. That program never worked! I was never given an option to set up a backup. I am keeping it and just using the Windows back-up system. I am very disappointed in this product.

Failed 3 months after buying it and was told that data recovery was not part of the warranty and would cost a significant amount of money. Lost data because of this.
