I just bought a new computer and just discovered WD no longer supports WD Backup. I have bought my last external hard drive from WD.

Had an IT look at it and said it was a hardware issue that couldn't be solved with drivers, etc. Threw it away unfortunately out of sheer disgust.

The driver will not download and WD has no support on the issue, it’s a common one on these drives apparently. Stuck at 18% loading on the installation for over 12 hours.

I filled it with my father’s pictures and videos when I visited him. My father passed away 3 months later; and I went to this product to check my files; it never opened; not recognized by any computer; I called for help, they wanted $ 3000 to fix this problem so I can see my files. I lost my best memories for a cheap product.

BUT THEY USE A SEAGATE AS A DEMO. TECH something another company I guess does not have the confidence to use a WD even though they repeatedly respond to my "search." I believe YOU SHOULD NOT STOCK A PRODUCT LIKE WD because of it extremely BAD, BAD, BAD reputation with highly respected repair and maintenance shops around the country. This is my opinion, but at least you should test this product with a MAC and make an informed decision. Thank You

The problem started when any computer I used it on wouldn't recognized the drive, after a couple months the drive was complete useless and unrecognizable. I took it to GeekSqaud and the estimated that the information which they could recover (only .jpeg, .pdf and .doc) would cost nearly $400. This was not even worth the cost for I use many other file types in my work. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this hard drive unless they only need it for basic file types in anticipation for a system crash.

After trying to load up a good amount of video files, the drive just quits. I try reformating, it fails again. So I go back to best buy to replace it. Try again with the new drive and the same thing happens again. Do not buy this drive if you need a reliable hard drive for video editing.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.In less than 30 days the easystore broke with this message ( F:\ is not accessible, The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable ) I am upset with Best Buys return policy (15) days and WD's help which is useless and even other online options did not work. I'm out the $75 I paid. I do have a My Passport Ultra that works fine but i'll never buy this junk again and even though i'm a regular best buy customer I might quit buying from them because of their lousy return policy
