Use this as a back-up drive on my Mac. Works great!

I purchase this hard drive after my previous one crashed after about five years of heavy use. I have had success with the WD product lines and continue to use the brand for our make-shift storage needs.

I'm a photographer and this is literally just used to backup my current working drive. I just dump tons of photos on here and it's works perfect. All my hard drive are Western Digital. All Thumb up for me.

Works just as expected. Compatible on both USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices. As a backup drive it serves its purpose and comes with WD Backup Software which a very nice addition that works well made by Acronis.

This external hard drive does the job very well and is quiet....I use it store my games from Xbox. Definitely worth the money and highly recommended.

I bought this after returning a 10TB version that died on me in less than a week. The drive is fast, doesn't take up a ton of space, and was very easy to setup.

I purchased this drive when it was on sale. The price was $10 more than the other drive with the same capacity. However, the features are better with longer warranty. We’ve been using it for karaoke storage of tens of thousands of songs and it’s working great. It was easy to set up and perfect for our purpose.

not much to say about this. it does exactly what hard drives are supposed to do. wd brand has a been good for me over the years, so i cant knock that.

Went with WD instead of Seagate for a new external, and this one had worked great so far. Files load quickly, drive spins up fast when I need it. No issues after having it a year.

have not had any issues with this at all! is great to have something nice to backup photos and programs to w/out worry!! very quiet and can turn the light off by using the software setup features.

Wait for this drive to come on sale. There is nothing on the market (besides an external SSD which costs tons more money for vastly less space). These read and write speeds do just fine.

Decided to go with an automated back-up system rather than relying on a flash drive. So, happy that I went that route. This system works like a charm!!

A big jump in speed and capacity from my older 160GB Portable Drive from several years ago. Still use my 128GB USB Thumb Drive for most things, but this is for desktop backup w/o having to plug in.

Our first hard drive didn't work and we took it right back to Best buy and they swapped easily. The 2nd hard drive appears fast and set up was easy. I don't seem to be having any concerns.

This thing has been amazing as the meat and potatoes behind my super slow but super cheap and reliable NAS/Plex server. It's so go I'm considering getting another one some day.

I am using this as a backup drive to my files and when others have accessed the drive, they are amazed at how fast it is. Upload and Download times are very good for this item.

Great price, good product. I don't use the harddrive for backup, instead I use it to store files and media. It works very well for my purpose, as I don't need it to be portable.

It is quieter and less vibrant than my previous 5TB WD My Book. And this product is equipped with a WD RED hard disk. If you need a WD RED hard drive, it is a good idea to purchase this product.

Effectively backed up 1.5TB of data from my NAS. Took a while, but noticed I wasn't using the USB 3.0 port on my PC. Easily found and installed. Some software to install but not bad.

This is the 4th one I have bought. Use one on my sons Xbox one, another on his Playstation 4, one for our computer, and another for just my photos. All work great!
