This item was right price cause xbox needs more storage

Bought to use with Xbox works like it’s supposed too

Lots of memory for all files, pictures, gaming, etc.

I bought the WD Easystore 4TB External Drive to eventually reorganize files kept on a WD Passport. I was slow in organizing and transferring my materials [I didn't feel it was a rush since the Passport was working fine] Last month the Passport failed and I spent several weeks recompiling materials that were backed up on multiple clouds, thumb drives, memory cards and on my computer [I take full blame for being poorly organized and for not backing up the Passport to the WD External Hard Drive]. Last Sunday I loaded everything onto the WD Easystore 4TB External Hard Drive, I was scheduled to go out of town this week and I thought I would hold off backing up the external drive when I came back to town so I opened every file and made sure they had all uploaded correctly and then disconnected the hard drive [in case there could be a power surge or something would happen when I was out of town] Today I came home and the WD Hard Drive has failed. Every bit of my digital information is gone, both my Mothers and Fathers estate paperwork, their Wills, every bit of paperwork pertaining to their passings. Every picture I had stored, our Family Trees, all of my Tax Returns for more than 20 years, almost everything I had saved digitally for the past 20 years ...GONE! It took Western Digital 5 days to loose everything it took me over 20 years to compile. It has nothing to do with money lost it has to do with memories lost, papers, files and records lost, things that probably can never be replaced. I should have done a back-up but my thought was "This is a brand new hard drive, still in its plastic protective coating, everything I loaded is there, I can see it there, it should be safe for 5 days. It will be safe for 5 days!" I would not recommend this product or any external drive made by Western Digital! I have had 2 total failures of external drives they have manufactured. If you do buy one of these PLEASE do not load anything you consider important on them, maybe yours will work fine but why take the chance, you could end up like me.

This is a good external hard drive until you bump it and if falls over. Then it stops working. I broke open my last one thinking I could salvage the drive inside, but no, the drive was not accessible at all and I lost all of my files.

I needed a bigger drive as my 2TB ran out of space. While this fits the space need, the drive is very slow, especially when first trying to wake it up. Still not a bad deal for the price I paid, but not what i was hoping for.

Not what I wanted. Can't use it. Stuck with it! What I needed to know about it, wasn't in the description. Consequently, it had the wrong kind of connector for what I wanted it for. Nothing wrong with the product, it's self.

Hard to get the online download. I ordered two of these hard drives but one was shipped and the other came a couple days later. I kept the first but returned the second and then ordered a different brand

Didn't work with net gear readyshare, otherwise I'd give it 5stars.

Used too much space. Backed up my computer with700GB on it, only backed up a part of it. Suprisingly, it used more than 1TB on my new harddrive. I am not a tech person, but, the math does not add up.

I bought it when it was 89 bucks, seems good with WD red. For 10-20 bucks more you could get a newer version with 3 years warranty. Or if you only buy it for NAS.

Ends up that this is too slow to use as a recording device for DVR application. But fine for general storage device, price was well worth it.

Great price for a 4TeraByte desktop full size external backup drive. Never see it this low cost before! Get it this week before sold out.
