Not compatible with Dish DVR. Had to return mine. Not WD's fault, but not mine either. At least I didn't get any flack for returning it.

I have used these before and found them to work well at first and be reasonably priced, but they do not last long! I bought this to back up one that started to show problems with files getting corrupted and this is not the first time. You may get lucky with one, but do not archive any important files on one of these! Sometimes, one should be wary of what appears to be a 'good deal.'

Bought one of these about 6 months ago for standard backup, still running fine. Decided to buy a second one on black Friday for 99.99 but for some dumb reason a day later they refunded it. At first I was annoyed thinking I'd lost my deal, then I log in to find it's now down to 89.99 on I guess slightly-blacker Sunday? Decided to just walk into the store and buy it there since BB doesn't like my money online. Worked out well for me, price wise at least. :) Oh and those of you looking to shuck this, they are now standard blue drives, no more super cheap nas reds. I'm still going to take the chance and install them in a nas box and see how they do. Figure I'll just swap these in and throw my old 3tb drives in these cases to use as redundancies. Can't beat the price even if you buy the blue drive by itself on am-azon!

This device died in one month. Because it has the backup of a business computer, I cannot turn it in. It is being destroyed. The problem is an completely ineffective power supply.

Worked well for a while with my Mac to store videos and pictures. After a while I would get hung up and couldn’t eject. Said it the file was being used by an application and could not be ejected. Called apple and WD and they couldn’t do much. Especially the foreign service guy at WD ... he gave me the run around and generally sucked. Not sure if it’s a hardware or software issue. Beware.

It's slower than I expected. It works fine enough since it just sits on my desk all day, but wish it was faster.

Used as computer backup device as space requirement made other types of media inadequate to complete full, quick backup.

Fantastic product and price, but after several failed attempts and phone calls, I couldn’t get it to work with my Mac.

I've had it for a couple of months now and I still haven't opened it because it's bigger than I was hoping for.

Got this a year back and its not that great since it has a separate power adapter...not that great

Great hard drive really wasn’t 4tb on mines but great overall

Not formatted to a Mac even though it shows as compatible on the box. Took way to much time to get it ready to use.

It's ok, kinda slow. I was hoping for something faster for the money it'll do.

This external drive would have been great if it had an Ethernet connection.

Tried everything, & didn’t work for me. Got my money back. Enough said.

Got product mailed with no problem. Thx only issue Was unable to use reward points.

It works. The set up went perfectly. It backed up the folders I wanted to back up.

This was a perfect solution for my son's school need.

Prefer the small mobile drives. This one loads a bit slow and not as portable.

This is good product but issue is its very bulky and carrying it is not easy
