Using WD Blue Drives now
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Previously you could expect Red drives, now using Blue. If you're just using the drive as-is it should be fine, but it's no longer a bargain if you're looking to shuck drives.

Not WD Red Drives
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I guess your mileage may vary in expecting Western Digital Red drives. I saw the review that said these had Red's in them, bought three when they went on sale, got 3 x 4 TB Western Digital Blue drives. No fault of the product, but I was expecting Western Digital Red Drives, so I subtracted 1 star

Good Wireless Gaming Headset for the Cost
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well. Has a few functions. Great fit for me. Great sound and team members can hear me well with the mic. Although when I tested it via GTM and played back, I wasn't impressed but... as long as they can hear me...

Good drive overall. Shucked it.......and....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a Blue, not a RED. Too bad, but still a great drive - speed tests were solid. Let's see how long it lasts versus the RED NAS versions. The Blue inside is a WD40EZRZ.

Great for storing and playing digital media
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to store my digital media and I Iike that it has its own power supply. I can connect it to my server and play movies remotely.

The actual HDD has Proprietary Connector, not SATA
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just wanted to warn people who eventually plan to remove the HDD from the case that WD has made this drive with a proprietary connector, not SATA like most HDDs! This alone is a reason to stay away because if the connector or power supply fails, you've lost it all!

Failed after 3 weeks.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product failed completely after only 3 weeks from purchase, so I'd give a Zero rating if I could. The hard drive was never dropped or damaged in any way. All I did was transfer files and it sat on a table for three weeks until I needed it again. The company does not stand by their product and will not offer data recovery despite this failing after only 3 weeks. If I want to get the data back, it will cost $900. After all the positive reviews, I thought I was getting the best product out there. Not so much.

Great, until...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The configuring for Mac OS was very technical and required an apple senior advisor. Then all was fine for a month until an Apple operating system update. Since then, the backups will happen ONLY after a restart. Best Buy will not replace it, saying I need to send it to Western Digital for a $400-likely repair. I think NOT!

Not plug and play if you have a Mac
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So after doing the steps to set this thing up, my mac recognizes it as a "read only" file, so I can't drag and drop folders into it. After googling for way longer than I wanted to, trying a bunch of extra steps and eventually having to download a free trial of a program, IT STILL DOESNT WORK.

inoperable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.USB 3.0 port not manufactured correctly. Tried 3 cables none of which would fit. Called Western Digital who refused to support the product even though their name and telephone number is on the warranty card. Useless piece of junk since you cannot connect iti to anything.

Drive dead, barely used
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My drive died after a little over 2 years of occasional use. Use WD for important data at your own risk.
