Large storage at a good price. So far, it has been easy to use and effective storage.

Nice for storage. So far, it has been dependable. Fast transfer rate. Bought for 99$, 4tb. It is a bit bulky, but for so many tb at that price, it was a great deal.

I bought this HDD around 90 bucks, which was in promotional sale. The space 4TB is huge, and the reason why I chose this is a stability issue. Generally, the USB-only-powered External HDD holds higher possibility of data failure because of potential electrical shortage problems. However, this product is supported by external power supply, which significantly decrease the chance of failure.

WD never fails me. I have over 20 hard drives. Worth the price esp when it is on sales.

Our studios use offsite voice talent for many things throughout the day, 24/7 and our offsite hosts need reliable backup in case they have a failure of their main studio PCs. This unit was pretty much plug and play, the backup started immediately after the drive installed it's own backup software. We did not opt to use the "cloud" backup associated with it, as a local drive for "grab and go" in emergencies was enough, and it's main purpose is to protect from drive failure in main computer. Reports back to us are that this drive works GREAT for that, especially easy if you are keeping your documents, video, audio, and "standard" type files in their windows-designated folders so the automatic settings work without intervention. However, you can set the folders you want backed up manually if you wish to be more selective of have saved files to non-standard locations. Recommended for easy windows-based backups, and we prefer the drives with their own power supplies over USB-only units for stability and less power being pulled from the PC's ports. Works well for us overall!

Easy set up. Updates while I sleep. Very narrow so it fits behind screen.

I bought this to use as a media drive with a new Mac Mini 2020 (2018) and it's worked great. I bought a new cable with a usb C end to attach at the computer end but could have just used an adapter. I've had a 10GB version I've been using for a few years as a Time Machine backup drive and also no issues. Solid and dependable.

Was window shopping and came across this 4 tb unit, and the price was perfect. Wanted an extra drive for backup of my pc this is easy to setup and use

great with new PS4 update, plug into ps4 and via settings, ps4 will format it and you can extend your memory another ~4 Tb

Couldn't resist a 4TB external drive at $99 since I also had a lot of reward $ accumulated. Use on iMac with Time Machine. Works great and a great value.

I've been using this External HDD for a few weeks now and have no complaints. I have it auto-mounted to a Raspberry Pi 3 that's set up as both a Samba Server and Plex Media Server. I'm able to save my family's files remotely to this HDD and play all my media from my tv. A little bit of work, even for a techie (didn't have much Linux experience beforehand), but it's a fun weekend project.

This external hard drive is ready to use immediately out of the box. First impression was that it was a bit large, but was just well protected inside the packaging. All cables needed are included. Transfer speed would depend on computer, I presume. All info from old hard drive was moved over in a few short minutes. Bought this item as deal of the day and would definitely buy again.
